Things to Do

Bethesda Row

Intersection of Bethesda Avenue and Arlington Road in Bethesda, Maryland
Located walking distance from both hotel suggestions, downtown Bethesda offers so many restaurants and stores to explore during your stay! Looking for breakfast? Head straight to Bethesda Bagels or Tatte. Looking for dinner? Uncle Julio’s, Fish Taco, Medium Rare and The Salt Line are our favorites, but the list goes on! Need a sweet treat? Levain Cookies and Georgetown Cupcakes are simply delicious.

Tastee Diner

Tastee Diner holds a special place in our hearts and the heart of Bethesda. We love the community and you just can’t beat a good old fashioned diner breakfast. Our favorite memories were late night munchies after school dances and Sunday morning breakfasts with Libby’s grandfather, Grumpy.

The National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Between Constitution & Independence Ave. SW Washington, DC 20050
Feel like exploring? Head downtown to Washington, D.C. for sightseeing, museums, restaurants, and more. Parking is tricky yet doable, but the metro would be our suggestion for a quick ride to the heart of downtown. A major metro stop is located right next to the Hyatt Regency Bethesda. The Bethesda stop is on the red line so all you need to do is take the red line (direction ending at Glenmont) 8 stops to Metro Station and then jump over to the orange or blue lines for two stops to Smithsonian (National Mall). This will drop you right by the National Monument, World War II Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial! You really can’t go wrong with any of the museums around, just take a look beforehand if any require an entry ticket or not.

The Wharf DC

One of our new favorite places to visit has been The Wharf! Located down on the waterfront of DC, The Wharf has so many great restaurants with fresh seafood, great cocktails, and more! The boardwalk stretches right along the water, creating a beautiful and scenic location for a Saturday morning walk.

Great Falls Park

Feeling outdoorsy? Great Falls Park in Potomac, Maryland is the perfect spot for everything from a light nature walk to a fun, rocky hike. You do have to pay $20 to park for the day, but there are endless trails and views to explore. If you head to the main scenic overlook, you can usually see white water kayakers taking on the roaring rapids. If you are looking for a stroll, we suggest sticking to the C&O Canal, but if you are up for some hiking and light climbing, head on over to the Billy Goat Trail!
